Ko Phai

Ko Phai (also known as Koh Pai Thai: เกาะ ไผ่ - Bamboo Island) is a standing protected island, located about 23 kilometers off the coast of Pattaya, and about 9 kilometers away from Ko Lan. It has a 150 meter high limestone cliffs and numerous bays and diving spots. Around Ko Phai are other smaller islands, some with coral reefs, which have yet to have a military area.

On 30 January 2003 was 300 meters east of Ko Phai, the sinking in 1945 by the United States Navy landing ship HTMS in Houston, completed Khram. The result was an artificial reef, which became the habitat varied marine life. The 61.5 meter long and 10.35 meters wide HTMS Khram (ex USS LSM-469) came during the Second World War against Japan for use in 1946 and was placed out of service. On 11 September 1962 took over the Royal Thai Navy ship.
